Artists looking for audience...
One of the biggest problems for starving artists these days is finding an audience. It's hard. You need to enter competitions, find exhibitions, sympathetic galleries and organizations offering funding. Additional problems are getting the galleries to work with you in the first place, gallery commissions of 50% being normal, being locked in to undesirable situations and having your work misrepresented.
Our Idea
Apartmentsapart has hundreds of apartments around Europe. We are offering artists the opportunity to display their work for sale in these unusual galleries. Each apartment has a few rooms where art can be displayed. Guests rotate every few days meaning that in a larger apartment sleeping 6 people your art can be seen and appreciated by 60 people per month. Remember these people are a captive audience and have plenty of time to look at your pictures.
What types of pictures should you display?
Our customers are usually on a budget and are impulse buyers and also need to carry the pictures home on an aeroplane so small and medium sized pictures are best. Pictures of the local area would obviously appeal to our tourist visitors.
