Brussels Railway Station is also known as Bruxelles-Midi is the main railway station of the Belgium capital. Served by the metro system of the city by the Gare du Midi/Zuidstation stop, the station connects southern and northern Brussels by more than 1000 days daily. Designed and built in 1869, the railway station was demolished 29 years later as it was already too small for the needs of the city. The new building of the railway was constructed in 1949 and was surrounded by the Rue de France, the Avenue Fonsnylaan, the Rue Couverte and the Rue de Veterinaires. During the 1990?s, was added the terminal Eurostar.
