Finally, spring is knocking at the door and we, at ApartmentsApart Krakow, is preparing to welcome it with open arms and offer full of attractions! First, we would like to invite you to take part in the celebration know as the Drowning of Marzanna – witch-burning followed by a drowning on March 21st. It’s one of the most bizarre Slavic pagan traditions which have endured in Catholic Poland. By the banks of the Wisla River you may encounter the straw corpse of the pagan goddess (Morena associated with winter, plague and death) burned and drowned by the local school children. It is the unforgettable experience! And March 28th is the day of Palm Sunday – a festival of beautiful handcrafted palms, the official start of Poland’s Easter Festivities. Throughout the second half of this month you can admire the palms all over Krakow’s Main Square. Both attractions are easy to reach from our apartments which are perfectly located near the Main Square.
