Central Barcelona is covering the Barri Gothic quarter in the downtown area of the beautiful Old City in Barcelona. Many of the buildings in that part of the city are dating back to the medieval times and are set next to the Catalan moderniste architecture which was used during the period 1885 - 1950. Some of the buildings constructed back then are today seen as World Heritage Sites. The most remarkable of those buildings are the works of the architect Antoni Gaudi, like for example the unfinished Sagrada Familia.
