Viz Centre or Barcelona Diagonal is among the most important avenues in the Spanish city. It separates the city in two, making a diagonal from the east to the west. The boulevard was originally designed by the urban engineer Ildefons Cerda, which along with Avinguda Meridiana. The two avenues meet at Placa de les Glories Catalanes considered to be the new city centre. Barcelona Diagonal is 50 meters wide and 11 km long. It crosses the city, meeting the Lleida- Madrid highway and Ronda de Dalt.
