Considered to be a major street in the centre of Edinburgh, in its New Town part, Princes Street is the main shopping mecca of the Scottish capital. Being the southernmost street of Edinburgh, Princes Street is approximately one mile long, stretching from the Lothian Road to the Leith Street. Closed for private cars, the street reveals lovely views over the Old Town, the Edinburgh Castle and the valley set between them. On the Princes Street are situated the major boutiques of House of Fraser, Marks & Spenser, Bhs, etc.
