Description

This charming lower conversion is a self-catering apartment distinguished by its high ceilings and a sense of luminous spaciousness. The galley-style kitchen has upgraded units (including a gas hob and oven) and leads directly into an alcove containing a breakfast bar at one end and on the other is a door to the garden via the porch. There is a large fireplace, and the cornicing and central ceiling rose have been beautifully emphasized, with the classical cream-fringed curtains contributing to an overall Colonial atmosphere. Designated with A-List status by Historic Scotland, Millbrae Crescent was designed by the notable Scottish architect Alexander 'Greek' Thompson. Part of the Thomson Heritage Train, the Crescent is located opposite Newlands South Church. Two lively pubs and several restaurants can be found via a scenic walk up Millbrae Hill, and guests who are staying for several weeks can get temporary membership at the Newlands Tennis Club.
